7075 (Al-Zn-Mg-Cu) super-hard aluminum alloy was the first aluminum alloy material used in aircraft in the late 1940s. After that,by adding other kinds of alloying elements, it changed the content of alloying elements and change the way it is heat treated, obtaining a lot of aerospace materials with excellent performance. Bie Shiqiang and others added Ni in Al-Zn-Mg-Cu aluminum alloy. The results show that 0.25% Ni content in the alloy, in addition to neutralizing iron to form Al9FeNi phase, also formed a strengthening phase Al7Cu4Ni. Precipitation hardening occurs during aging.
As a force component of contemporary aircraft, it has the advantages of high specific strength, large yield ratio, and strong plastic toughness. It is the pillar structure of many industries in the future. However, at present, there are many problems in the industrialization of the 7075 ultra-high-strength aluminum alloy. Moreover, such aluminum alloys show poor corrosion resistance and low fatigue strength, which limits their wide application.
In the future, ordinary high-strength aluminum alloys should be improved and developed from the following aspects:
(1) Develop a new ultra-high-strength aluminum alloy with higher strength by applying external field (electromagnetic field, etc.) during rapid coagulation and casting, and strengthen the matrix to dissolve more alloying elements.
(2) Strengthen the research on melting furnace melting technology, deepen the development of purification technology, reduce the impurity content inside the molten pool, and make it impossible to make macro defects appear, reduce crack propagation defects and improve their uniformity.
(3) Development of aluminum-based composite materials to obtain composite coatings with excellent corrosion resistance.
